A Love Electric meets Four Suns – Nebenwirkungen Vol.1

Liebe Konzertbesucher, das Konzert „A Love Electric meets Four Suns – Nebenwirkungen Vol.1“ am 27.02.2019 im Konzertsaal wurde ins Studio 672 verlegt. Danke für Ihr Verständnis!

A Love Electric, the first band of the evening, is a 3-nation Power Psych post-genre trio from Mexico City that has performed at rock, jazz and world festivals and clubs around the world. The band featured some of the most groundbreaking musicians in the world, including John Medeski, Cyro Baptista and Keb Mo. The band combines elements of rock, jazz, spoken word, roots blues and improvised music, resulting in unrepeatable concert experiences.

Four Suns will take over the stage later and is a jazz quartet dedicated to the development and fusion of folkloric elements of Latin American and European music.

In our new podcast Matthias Schriefl, curator of the new series, tells us more about this and A Love Electric: https://soundcloud.com/user-27410554-345233275/stadtgarten-radio-1-matthias-schriefl-on-his-new-series-nebenwirkungen

The three bandleaders are very different in their approach to this matter: The US guitarist Todd Clouser has been living in Mexico City for almost 10 years and has travelled the whole Latin American continent musically, so that he knows the subtleties of many styles. Despite everything, he has remained a jazz musician who incorporates strong influences from experimental electro/pop into his style. Matthias Schriefl is a multi-instrumentalist who brings alpine sounds together with rhythms from all over the world. And the guitarist José Diaz de León integrates styles from all over the world into his music, the ideal bridge between the two cultures. Anthony Greminger, a young drummer from Cologne, is the ideal addition as his bands move between contemporary jazz and indie pop.
