In addition to his work as a composer in the field of contemporary music theatre, which has made him internationally known, Cologne-based Manos Tsangaris has also been producing groovy pieces with an original, often rather abstract character for many years. These activities include the release of "Elephant's Easy Moonwalk Through the Night" and the decade-long collaboration with Jaki Liebezeit, Maf Retter and Reiner Linke in the drum collective DRUMS OFF CHAOS.

Manos Tsangaris is considered one of the most original personalities of the contemporary music scene. He teaches composition in Dresden and is artistic director of the Munich Biennale for New Music Theatre.

UNLOCK THE STILLNESS is his first release on FLYINGEGGS, a label of the new production company basic tone, which specializes in groovy, idiosyncratic beats.

Turn off all machines, pick up a blank sheet of paper and wait - that's what Manos Tsangaris calls his "little exercise". A process to bundle thoughts and put them on paper. This is also the case with the lyrics of the new EP UNLOCK THE STILLNESS, which rhythmically flow with poetic intensity and serenity to the sounds of peculiar instruments.
